Rehabilitation of Inmates’ Vocational Training: A case study of Nonthaburi Provincial Prison

Abstract

บทคัดย่อ

            การวิจัยนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อศึกษาการฟื้นฟูสมรรถภาพผู้ต้องขังด้านการฝึกวิชาชีพในเรือนจำจังหวัดนนทบุรี โดยใช้วิธีการวิจัย 2 วิธี ได้แก่ วิธีวิจัยเอกสารและวิธีวิจัยสนาม ในส่วนของการวิจัยสนามได้ใช้การสัมภาษณ์แบบมีโครงสร้างผู้ให้ข้อมูลสำคัญ จำนวน 10 คน จำแนกเป็นข้าราชการที่มีหน้าที่เกี่ยวข้องกับการฝึกวิชาชีพผู้ต้องขัง จำนวน 5 คน และผู้ต้องขังที่ผ่านการฝึกอบรมวิชาชีพภายในเรือนจำ 5 คน โดยใช้วิธีการสุ่มตัวอย่างแบบเจาะจง ผลการวิจัยพบว่า การฟื้นฟูสมรรถภาพผู้ต้องขังด้านการฝึกวิชาชีพในเรือนจำจังหวัดนนทบุรี มุ่งเน้นให้ผู้ต้องขังเป็นศูนย์กลางในการพัฒนา โดยมีการพัฒนาพฤตินิสัยของผู้ต้องขัง และการพัฒนาให้มีทักษะและมีความชำนาญในด้านการประกอบอาชีพ จนทำให้สามารถพึ่งพาตนเองและนำไปประกอบอาชีพที่สุจริต และสามารถดูแลครอบครัวหลังได้รับการปล่อยตัวพ้นโทษออกไปจากเรือนจำ

ABSTRACT

            The purpose of this research was to study the rehabilitation of inmates’ vocational training of Nonthaburi Provincial Prison. The research had been conducted using a combination of documentary and field research methods. A structured interview technique was employed in data collection. A sample 10 key informants comprised of 5 government officials whose duties were relevant to the rehabilitation of inmates’ vocational training and 5 inmates who passed through the vocational training. All of them were selected using purposive sampling. The research found that the rehabilitation of inmates’ vocational training of Nonthaburi Provincial Prison has focused on inmate-centred development. The rehabilitation includes inmates’ behavior and vocational skill development. After they are set free from prison, expectedly, they should be able to apply their trained vocational skills to get the faithful occupations. Not only the inmates should be self-sufficient but also should be able to take care of their family.
